Holley carburetors are among the most widely used and recognizable high-performance carburetors on the market. The Chevy ‘s stock Rochester was design to provide smooth operation for day-to-day driving rather than for the high-performance applications Holley carburetors are designed for. Replacing the stock carburetor with a Holley unit is relatively simple, and the increase in performance can be dramatic. Remove the air cleaner assembly from the top of the stock carburetor. Chevrolet air cleaner assemblies attach to the top of the carburetor with a single wing nut, which installs onto a stud located at the top of the carburetor. The wing nut is located in the center of the top of the air cleaner assembly.

Inside this hose is a tiny hole for the starting air jet SAJ2 noted below in the Starting enrichener circuit description. The bottom of the air box mod I cut eight inch and a quarter holes in the bottom of the air box six directly under the foam facing the carbs and you can see the battery through the holes. The other two are directly on the bottom and on each side of the air box under the foam by the smaller little foam pieces. Next I took out the rubber snout on the bottom of the air box and with a jigsaw and using the side edge of the stock hole as my guideline I cut right to each side of the air box making a nice round curve on each side.
So in other words you are extending the stock hole to each side of the air box and rounding both sides. Use a file to make sure to clean off any loose plastic particle from the air box and blow clean with compressed air. The baffle above the foam The baffle now has a total of 14 inches of hole cut in it as well. This includes the holes there from the factory, 7 inches on each side of the baffle to keep air flow in balance. I got this measurement by measuring each holes diameter.
Make sure to not hit anything on the inside of the baffle while picking your spots to cut with hole saw.

A weak battery may be cranking it to slow – or possibly starter needs rebuilt “new brushes” jasonp , It does seem to help a little bit but still as soon as I get a push.. The thing fires right up. Considering that when I’m getting pushed I have it in 4 or 5 gear and it barely turns over.

Anybody can ask a question Anybody can answer The best answers are voted up and rise to the top up vote 4 down vote favorite I bought a VIP Future Champion , took it to the shop and had the heads changed because the mechanic said it had bad heads, so dollars later I went in to pick it up and the mechanic says there is a knock in the lower engine, he starts it up it starts right up and lets it run for about 30 seconds, so my friend and I go outside to talk and decide to take it home rather than pay the additional dollars.
We go in to get the scooter and suddenly it won’t start. I think the mechanic was shady and did something very simple to keep it from starting. It’s hot and I’m tired of walking after spending bucks on a scooter. Why wouldn’t it start and hasn’t started since? The mechanic said there was a knock in the lower engine, but he started it right up to show us. It doesn’t ignite, but tries to start..
I just assumed it might be something simple, because my past experience with shady auto mechanics is like with my Ford Taurus for which the mechanic flipped the fuel pump relay switch in the trunk without my knowledge and acted as if it wouldn’t start Then the next day I went to get my car tired of giving the guy my money and he had a fake mechanics lean drawn up and Anyway, I assumed that since he started it right up and two mins later it didn’t after I went outside with my boyfriend and decided I wasn’t given him any more money, that maybe there was something simple and stupid like that?
Should I have left my scooter in the shop and given him another dollars? The starter works fine and everything else seems to work except it just won’t get going or turn all the way over or run.

RX1 Carb Sync
First off, I incorporated the crankcase hose into the pvc with a barbed fitting, but i replaced the original hose with one I bought from lowes. It is a little thiner and I sprayed high heat paint on it. Also I have kind of a wierd angle with the hose that looks as if it could almost constrict the air flow. It seems fine, but I can’t tell.
I tried to adjust the idle knob, but i couldn’t really tell if it made much of a difference. Is there anything else to adjust or look at to fix this problem?

But it had a great body and a bed! I put the bed on and use it all the time. I then sold the other G2 for a bit more then what I paid so I was happy about that too. After that I moved to Vegas and had to leave it behind for almost a year. Then When I finally got it down to Nevada I was staying with family in a small town in the middle of no where Nevada. It wasn’t running right. Leaving it sit for a year and then the move kinda left it’s mark.
An exhaust stud broke off in the head and I couldn’t get the darn thing running right. Working on it one day a neighbor asked for help with a Polaris quad. His grand kids slammed his low hour Polaris into a tree and bestroyed the frame. I yanked the engine out made some motor mounts and now the Polaris engine sits below the seat of my golf cart. Oh I forgot to mention I kept the rear axle off the other G2 I bought so I had a spare axle to use to mock up and fab engine mounts.

It will take some looking, but one should show up eventually because people part out CV80’s from time to time. If you see someone selling a lot of CV80 parts, message them and ask if they have a carb.

Being real careful not to tear or break any gaskets or the diaphragm. On the jet side there is a plate with two phillips head screws, that can be a total pain to get out. A manual impact help tremendously with those. Once the metering plate is removed, you will see the low and high jets, along with the Needle and seat. Using a common screw driver, remove the jets and clean them. Remove the little phillips head clamping the needle and seat and remove the fulcrum pin, being careful.
